Traveling almost without money was not easy. Although the "race for revenge" has pushed prices higher in the short term, they have started to return to pre-Covid levels. And with the rise of the sharing economy, cheap flights galore and access to cheap accommodation, vacationing has never been easier.
If you're an American, the strong dollar has made many places very cheap (or even cheaper) to visit. While it's not great for others, it's great for us Americans because we have the best exchange rates in years, and even if absolute prices are going up, you really need to take advantage of those exchange rates to travel properly. now
While there are so many great travel destinations to choose from, I wanted to list a few of my favorites. This place for me is the most interesting, beautiful and easy to find and excellent value for money. Here are 11 cheap tourist attractions with US dollars:
Cheap tourist attractions with US dollars

- everywhere, everywhere, everywhere
1. Costa Rica
Costa Rica is my favorite country in Central America. Even if it's one of the most expensive in the area, your money will be well taken care of here. Strike a balance between budget-friendly and safe while still offering plenty of great places and things to do.
There is so much to see and do in this magical place. You will find rainforests, turtles, incredible waves, volcanoes, white water rafting, beautiful reserves, deep sea diving and some happy and friendly people.
And in terms of travel budget, if you use hostels and buses and cook your own meals, you will need around $50 per day; You can also do some inexpensive activities like snorkeling or hiking. As a bonus, flights from the US are also very cheap. If you're flexible, you can find round-trip flights for less than $300.
With a mid-range budget of $100 per day, you can stay in an Airbnb, eat more, drink more, take the occasional cab, and do more paid activities like guided tours, surfing lessons, and museum visits. In short, with this budget you will not lack for anything!

2. Vietnamese
Vietnam is one of the cheapest countries in the already cheap region. If you're on a budget of $25 a day, you're going to want something. Hostels are only a few dollars a day, and you can get delicious street food for around $1. (If you are looking for more luxury, you can easily reach the country for $50-75 per day.)
Spend some time in the capital Hanoi and visit H? Lang Bay if you are in the north. Isn't there a lack of sea in the south? Chi Tunnels near Ho Chi Minh City (used by the Viet Cong during the war with the United States).
For some adventurous activities like canyoning and cliff jumping, visit Da Lat. If you are looking for beaches, Na Trang and Mui Ne should be at the top of your list!

3. Romania
Not only is Romania an underrated travel destination in Europe, it's also cheap. Bucharest is a thriving modern capital and the entire Transylvania region is stunning. Bra?ov, my favorite city, has a lot of history to offer (including the famous Braun Castle). Transportation is cheap, and both carpooling and carpooling are common. It's a huge country, so you could easily go weeks and still only scratch the surface.
Backpackers can comfortably enjoy their time for only 35-40 USD per day, which is a steal in Europe. And if you want to treat yourself and stay in a hotel, eat more, and have a drink, you can easily do it for less than $100 a day.
With more and more visitors coming here to await visa restrictions in the Schengen area, it's likely to get more popular (and more expensive), so try to get there while you can!

4. India
Although India has always been a cheap country, with a big US dollar, it's still cheaper! You can earn $20-30 a day, often less! Great food can be had for less than $2 and accommodation is only $5-10 per night depending on where you are.
Even if you're looking for mid-range accommodation and food, you won't be able to spend more than $50 a day unless you're staying at a five-star resort - and it's pretty affordable, too! While flights to India can be expensive, they are all cheap once you arrive.
Don't miss the epic Taj Mahal, the relaxing beaches of Goa, the holy city of Varanasi and major cities like New Delhi and Mumbai.
5. Argentina
Full of history, beautiful people, culture, wine, soccer and natural wonders like Patagonia, Argentina is one of my favorite countries in South America. And the capital, Buenos Aires, is considered one of the liveliest cities in the world. (Most people speak English, which makes it easy to get around.) I haven't had that much wine or steak here (which cost my budget, but it was worth it!).
The only problem is that inflation is rampant, so prices are constantly changing. But even so, you can still earn around 40-50 USD per day by staying in hostels and doing cheap, free activities like museum visits, hiking, and free walking tours.
Patagonia is the main attraction here, with stunning scenery and world-class hiking trails. Nature lovers will also want to see Iguazú Falls, the largest waterfall system in the world! And although the guided excursion costs up to $450 for a multi-day trip, it's still a great deal because it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

6. South Africa
Safaris, wineries, mountains and endless coasts, perfect for road trips: This is South Africa. As a backpacker or traveler on a budget, this country is a great destination as there are plenty of business opportunities and adventure activities (and some great excursions) to keep you occupied.
While it's true that South Africa struggles with corruption and petty crime, it has a thriving tourism industry and a thriving backpacker and digital nomad scene.
For $40-60 per day you can enjoy the beautiful beaches and laid-back lifestyle that make South Africa so attractive. While there are certainly cheaper places to be found on the mainland, you'll find good value here.
Don't miss climbing Table Mountain or spotting penguins while in Cape Town. And if you're looking for a top-notch safari experience, head to Kruger National Park!

7. Cambodia
Cambodia is one of my favorite countries in the world. The people are very friendly and even after a long break between trips I still consider it one of the best travel destinations in Southeast Asia - affordable, friendly and safe.
Prices have increased a bit over the years but not too much (even cheaper than Thailand). Backpackers can easily earn $40-50 or less per day. Street food is cheap and tasty (Phnom Penh is a great city for foodies) and hostels are under $10 a night. You can also travel most of the country by bus for $20.
In addition, Angkor Wat is one of the most beautiful historical sites in the world (entrance fee 37 USD). Also visit Phnom Penh's Killing Fields and the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum for a glimpse into the country's violent past.

8. South Korea
I don't know why most people don't talk about it, but if you're looking for a cheap East Asian country with beautiful scenery, South Korea is the answer. This country offers many values!
When I visited South Korea a few years ago, I was shocked at how cheap everything was. Of course, it's not as cheap as in Southeast Asia, but it's quite affordable compared to Japan or Europe. At KRW 1,372 per USD in South Korean Won, and almost everything is only a few thousand won, I can't imagine spending your budget here (unless you're a foodie, because the food here is amazing!).
My friend and I went for a full Korean BBQ with drinks and spent $8 each. You can get a bottle of beer at 7-11 for a few bucks. Seoul hostels start from $15 per night (hotel rooms start from $30 per night). Backpackers can stop by here for as little as $50-60.
During your stay, enjoy Seoul's culinary scene and visit Gyeongbukgung Palace. For a more luxurious vacation, head to Jeju Island for the beach and fun in the sun.

9. Mexico
I admit I was late to the party in Mexico. When I went to some of the tourist areas I ended up going outside of the resort. And I love every minute.
Mexico City is a world-class metropolis with great food and nightlife, Oaxaca has great historical sites and lots of great restaurants (and as much mezcal as you can drink), and the Yucatan Peninsula is perfect for driving and swimming in secluded cenotes (sinkholes ). ). . )
Despite the country getting a bad rap in the US (thanks to overzealous media coverage), it's actually a lot safer - and cheaper - than you'd think. Travelers can earn up to $50 a day ($80 to $120 if you prefer a hotel over a hostel), and flights from the US are often $200 round trip.
In short, this is a great option for American travelers who are short on time but still want to explore a fun, sunny, and affordable place.

10. Great Britain
In recent years, the British pound (GBP) has been worth up to double the US dollar. Is no longer. Still in trouble after Brexit, it's now only 20% higher than the dollar, if at all. The UK may not be a cheap travel destination, but the weak pound and strong dollar mean you're getting more value than ever. Backpackers can spend up to $75 a day on hostels, free museums, and cheap bar grub.

11. Everywhere!
If you're American, "discounts" are everywhere these days. The euro is at all-time lows against the US dollar and a weakening pound, as well as the yen, Canadian, Australian and New Zealand dollars. etc. This is a good time to travel to typically expensive countries such as Iceland, Norway, Denmark and New Zealand. Your cash will be much higher than in previous years so you really need to take advantage of this opportunity because you really don't know how long it will last!

Book your trip: logistics
Book your flight
Find cheap flights with Skyscanner. It's my favorite search engine because it searches websites and airlines around the world, so you always know you're not missing any business needs. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
book your accommodation
If you want to stay somewhere other than a hostel, before booking your hostel on Hostelworld, use Booking.com as they regularly return the lowest prices for guesthouses and hotels.
Don't forget travel insurance
Travel insurance protects you against illness, injury, theft and cancellation. If something goes wrong, it's comprehensive protection. I've never traveled without it because I've had to use it a lot. My favorite company that offers the best service and value for money:
- Protection (for everyone)
- (70)
- MedJet
